It's getting warm outside so we made the best Honey Hot Wings using our PanAfrica! Fryday Seasoning. Don't ask us why but we love a good crispy saucy wing! This is a family recipe we remixed by using PanAfrica! Fryday Seasoning on the chicken and in the sauce. Perfect for girls night, cookout, or late night snack. Find out how below:
For the chicken
2 lbs chicken wings sections
3-4 tsp tsp PanAfrica! Fryday Seasoning
1-2 tsp garlic powder
1-2 tsp onion powder
1-2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
kosher salt to taste
olive or canola oil
For the Sauce
1/2 stick of unsalted butter
6 tbsp hot sauce (We like Lousiana Hot Sauce)
2 tbsp of honey
1-2 tsp PanAfrica! Fryday seasoning
Start with clean chicken in a bowl and dry chicken well with a paper towel.
Season chicken to your liking with all the spices listed above, including PanAfrica! Fryday Seasoning.
Let the chicken marinate at room temperature and add canola oil to a pan on medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the chicken (naked, no breading) to the oil and fry on both sides until crispy.
While the chicken is frying make the sauce.
To a pot, add all sauce ingredients and whisk well on medium heat. Taste sauce and adjust flavors to your preferred taste.
For spicier sauce, add more hot sauce and PanAfrica! Seasoning.
For sweeter sauce, add a tbsp of honey at a time until the sauce reaches your desired level of sweetness.
Bring the sauce to soft boil and whisk periodically until the sauce is thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
Drain the fried wings on a wire rack and add to a bowl with sauce and toss until completely coated. Serve with blue cheese or ranch dip and Enjoy!
